The Body Shop Chocomania Shower Cream review

In February 2012, The Body Shop released a set of chocolate-themed bath products in time for Valentines Day. The Chocomania body collection includes a heart-shaped soap, shower cream, body scrub, body lotion, body butter, lip butter, and a bag of hearts. Even better still, the Chocomania collection has been integrated into the usual collections and are available all year round. So now I can stock up whenever I want to instead of waiting for a clearance sale, or a special event.

According to their website, the products "contain fair trade ingredients like cocoa butter, sugar, honey, coconut oil, and shea to help hydrate and protect dry epidermises". The Body Shop has always been so environmentally conscious so I always feel pleased to buy from them.
The Body Shop's previous attempts with chocolate hasn't exactly been appetizing (I'm looking at you, cocoa butter and brazil nut) so I was a little apprehensive about how this collection would turn out. But these products have an unmistakeable chocolate scent. Im practically salivating whenever I smell them! I'm already planning to try the body scrub soon, as it smells so delicious! The bag of hearts also seem like a good purchase, and the body lotion if I can somehow finish up all my lotions that I already have (fat chance).

Anyway, on to the shower cream. The was the only product I bought from the line, although I was quite tempted to try out some of the other things. It comes in the usual shower gel bottle, and it's easy to carry around since it's portable and light. The smell is obviously, what i love most because it has a lovely milk chocolatey smell, not just the dark cocoa chocolate smell. Unfortunately, i don't find that the smell lingers on for long after a shower. My bathroom smells lovely though. The Body Shop shower gels don't dry out my skin when I use them, and this one is no exception.

All in all, it is a great everyday shower gel, and I love bringing it around for an overnight stay. I had it while I was in the United States, and while it was cold and dry there, I used it everyday and the shower cream did not dry out my skin. I believe that the ingredients make the shower cream even more moisturizing than the usual shower gels. I would definitely repurchase this again when I run out (I'm already halfway through!) and I'm glad I can just walk into a shop anytime to pick it up. No promises that the body scrub won't be following us out the shop too...

*The Chocomania shower cream is available in most Body Shops at around S$12.90.

Schwarzkopf Ultimate Colour 499 Dark Cherry review

TDLR Review:  I would not recommend this hair colour product at all, because the shade turned out nothing like the box. Also it is difficult to wash off.  NOTE: I have dark Asian hair, which might be the reason why it's not suitable for this product. So I'm back with another hair dye review! I've raved about the Liese hair dyes before ( Cassis Berry , Sweet Apricot , Antique Rose ), because those are super easy to use (I've appreciated that even more after finding out how difficult some at-home hair dye kits can be to apply). But I got suckered into getting a box of Schwarzkopf Ultimate Colour hair dye, because the models on Schwarzkopf hair dye boxes always have gorgeous shades of hair! I've used Schwarzkopf before, I've bought the Palette in Magical Blue Black (no review, only a haul). But I was disappointed with it, because there was only a faint sheen of blue, and the black faded from my hair quite quickly. The trouble with Schwarzkopf also is

Intro Post

Despite the name, this blog is not about carousels or couture (although you never know, that might change?). Nobody likes to spend money on something, only to discover that it does not deliver what it has promised. I sure don't. So I start this blog with the hopes that perhaps it'll help someone find their holy grail. And maybe, I'll find my own on the way too. Expect to find beauty and skincare reviews, book reviews, movie reviews, and current obsessions. Oh, and a little couture here and there too.

Old Town White Coffee Ipoh Hor Fun review

Who doesn't like Old Town White Coffee? It's so nostalgic, from the furniture they have to the food they serve. It's really like a throwback to the simpler times in Singapore. According to Wikipedia, Old Town White Coffee is the largest kopitiam restaurant chain in Malaysia and has over 180 outlets in the region. Can you believe that? I love their kaya toast and of course, their Ipoh Hor Fun. Why go to Penang when you can just enjoy the Hor Fun here? Normally I get those Ipoh Hor Fun that is served in rich gravy, with not much soup. But this one is served in a clear broth, which is perfect for a light meal that is also filling. At the end of it, you won't feel too full or bloated like if you had something richer. The kway teow is served with generous helpings of prawns and chicken shreds every time I go there (my favourite outlet is Playground at East Coast Park, the area that used to be Big Splash. There are 8 outlets in Singapore at the moment, and they ar
