Clear Women Anti Hair-Fall Shampoo review

After the review on the Himalaya Herbals Anti-Hair Fall Shampoo, I realized that I hadn't done a review on the Clear Women Anti Hair-Fall Shampoo, that I got and finished some time ago. As I mentioned in the last post, I was worried about the amount of hair fall I've been experiencing, and some thinning area around my fringe. So I've been taking a close look at the anti-hair fall shampoos that are available in the market.

I got the Clear Women Anti Hair-Fall Shampoo in a travel size. I also got the Clear Women Dry Scalp and Itch Control Shampoo too. Considering that Clear has launched a new formula, I wanted to make sure I liked it before I purchased a retail size version. Also, a travel size sure makes it easy to tog along to the gym whenever I feel like it.

Clear is quite a famous haircare brand. They've sponsored Lotus Renault in F1 2012, which boasts Kimi Raikkonen and Romain Grosjean as their drivers.

Bet Kimi's never had dandruff before!

Anyway, I've heard fairly good review about this product. It claims to be made for weakened scalp and hair, and "strengthens hair from the root to tip and increases hair’s defense against hair fall and breakage". Sounds good, I always believe in solving hair problems by going right to the scalp. Healthy scalp leads to healthy hair right?

I've already finished the travel-sized shampoo, and it is pretty good. It does not tangle my hair (Himalaya shampoo, you have a long way to go), it lathers well and leaves my hair feeling clean and not itchy. I definitely like that my hair and scalp feels refreshed after using this shampoo, it's a nice feeling that wakes you up and makes you feel good. I hate coming out of the shower and feeling like my hair is limp and flat. It does not dry out my hair either, although I do use a hair lotion almost every time I wash my hair.

What I don't like is how it smells. The old formula smelt okay, but this new formula seems to have a noticeable smell that lingers on occasionally, even after conditioner. I don't like the smell myself, but this is quite subjective to each person. I suggest that if you are planning to get this, open the cap and smell the product first. If you are okay with it, go ahead and get it.

Regarding hair fall, I do see a little less hair left behind in my shower after bathing. However, with all the different brands out there, I'd like to try and see if there's a shampoo that can produce better results than this. But I would certainly consider repurchasing this again. And I sure hope that they'll come up with another new formula that does not smell so strong! But it is tolerable, and I don't really mind it that much, if it gives me great hair.

Check out my review of the Clear Women Dry Scalp and Itch Control Shampoo!

*The Clear Women Anti Hair-Fall Shampoo retails at most stores and pharmacies at approximately S$9.40 for 350ml and S$14.30 for 700ml. There is also a formula available for men. Buy it online at Qoo10 (SO CHEAP OMG) or Amazon.

For reference, I have an oily scalp and dry and slightly frizzy hair.

Intro Post

Despite the name, this blog is not about carousels or couture (although you never know, that might change?). Nobody likes to spend money on something, only to discover that it does not deliver what it has promised. I sure don't. So I start this blog with the hopes that perhaps it'll help someone find their holy grail. And maybe, I'll find my own on the way too. Expect to find beauty and skincare reviews, book reviews, movie reviews, and current obsessions. Oh, and a little couture here and there too.

Schwarzkopf Ultimate Colour 499 Dark Cherry review

TDLR Review:  I would not recommend this hair colour product at all, because the shade turned out nothing like the box. Also it is difficult to wash off.  NOTE: I have dark Asian hair, which might be the reason why it's not suitable for this product. So I'm back with another hair dye review! I've raved about the Liese hair dyes before ( Cassis Berry , Sweet Apricot , Antique Rose ), because those are super easy to use (I've appreciated that even more after finding out how difficult some at-home hair dye kits can be to apply). But I got suckered into getting a box of Schwarzkopf Ultimate Colour hair dye, because the models on Schwarzkopf hair dye boxes always have gorgeous shades of hair! I've used Schwarzkopf before, I've bought the Palette in Magical Blue Black (no review, only a haul). But I was disappointed with it, because there was only a faint sheen of blue, and the black faded from my hair quite quickly. The trouble with Schwarzkopf also is

Old Town White Coffee Ipoh Hor Fun review

Who doesn't like Old Town White Coffee? It's so nostalgic, from the furniture they have to the food they serve. It's really like a throwback to the simpler times in Singapore. According to Wikipedia, Old Town White Coffee is the largest kopitiam restaurant chain in Malaysia and has over 180 outlets in the region. Can you believe that? I love their kaya toast and of course, their Ipoh Hor Fun. Why go to Penang when you can just enjoy the Hor Fun here? Normally I get those Ipoh Hor Fun that is served in rich gravy, with not much soup. But this one is served in a clear broth, which is perfect for a light meal that is also filling. At the end of it, you won't feel too full or bloated like if you had something richer. The kway teow is served with generous helpings of prawns and chicken shreds every time I go there (my favourite outlet is Playground at East Coast Park, the area that used to be Big Splash. There are 8 outlets in Singapore at the moment, and they ar
