Did you fall in love with the Heart Bag trend?

When Chanel launched their Spring/Summer 2022 collection, fashionistas definitely took a second (and third and fourth!) look at the heart shaped bags that models carried down the runway . The Heart Bags featured quilted lambskin leather and came in Coral Pink, White and Black. The smaller Heart Clutch with Chain bags also featured quilted lambskin leather and came in Purple, White and Black (the purple is my favourite!). Now that the bags have launched in stores, we're seeing them on the streets and on YouTube videos. Of course, heart-shaped bags aren't a new phenomenon. Every so often, we'll see a new reiteration from designers who put their own twist and unique direction. Let's check out some of these heart-shaped bags. VINTAGE CHANEL In fact, Chanel first launched heart-shaped bags in quilted patent leather back in the 1990s. The now-vintage bags had a chainlink top handle and came in black, beige and pink. KAT...

Christmas Wish List

So how was everyone's Christmas! I had a nice quiet time at home, spending time with family. The end of the year is always the time when I look back and think of all I've accomplished and all that I hope to accomplish in the future. And even though I'm thankful for everything I have, I also do think about what I hope to get in the future. Here's my Christmas wish list of 2012, what's yours? #1. Chanel 2.55 The most classic, coveted bag in fashion. My favourite is lambskin, even though caviar is more hardy. And I love beige, but black is also such a great everyday option. Green might not be my first choice in an investment bag but I really like the colour and details on this Chanel carried by Kim Kardashian. #2. Lady Dior Yet another gorgeous classic, and even though it's not so coveted as the 2.55, I just love this bag too. Maybe partly because Marion Cotillard is the face of Dior, and I really admire her.  #3. Blazer  It's sup...

Current Obsession: Carousels!

Of course, since this blog is named Carousels and Couture , I have a love for both Cs. Imagine my delight when they were combined in two fashion shows done by fashion bigwigs Louis Vuitton and Chanel. Louis Vuitton Spring-Summer 2012 showcased a beautiful white setting, with models sitting on the horses before strutting on the round runway. Marc Jacobs certainly went all out in designing this winter wonderland. Fashion darling Kate Moss closed the show, although I have to admit, I'm not a big fan of her. Watch the show here. The Chanel Fall-Winter 2008 collection was an even more elaborate affair. The two-storey carousel featured humongous versions of Chanel icons in place of the traditional horses. The pearls, bags, cuffs, brooches and other Chanel accessories sure makes the models look like dolls in this large dollhouse. Karl Lagerfeld's attention to details has come to fruition with this masterpiece runway show that has cetainly captured the attention of...
