Loreal Anti-Frizz Hair Mask review

Loreal has somehow been a constant in my life, as my mother loves to use their shampoo and conditioner. As I always have frizzy hair, I felt that conditioner was not enough, and branched out to hair masks and treatments. I tried the Loreal Anti-Frizz Hair Mask when I was 14, and years later, it still remains one of my favourite hair masks of all time. Despite my willingness to try new and different hair masks in the market, I've come to the realization that I love this the most.

Hair masks are more intense and moisturizing than conditioners and hair treatments, and also need a longer time to soak into the hair. The timing differs, with some needing only 1 minute, and others up to 30 minutes. Usually I will leave the Loreal hair mask on for about 5 minutes, but if I have time I will leave it on for longer so that my hair can soak up the goodness.

I once asked a hair expert about why we couldn't just leave it on for a long time (surely the longer the time spent, the more effective it becomes right?) but she explained that after 30 minutes or so, the effectiveness will drastically drop. Therefore, there is no point in leaving it on after that.

It is smooth and easy to apply on my hair, even when it is a tangled mess. I leave it on for a few minutes, and when I wash it off, my hair already feels very smooth in the shower. I don't use a conditioner after that, because I find that it is already very smooth and silky, and therefore does not need more conditioning. Don't forget to rinse very thoroughly, because I find that it's difficult to rinse it off without feeling that there's still some residue. The floor may also feel smooth and slippery, so be sure to wash that away. I find that I don't really have to use too much, which is a good thing, unlike some other hair masks where I scoop out a lot of product to work it into my hair.

Even though I only apply this on my hair ends, I find that my scalp becomes oily far more quickly than normal. I usually wash my hair every other day (washing it everyday dries it out), and on the second day I will feel that my scalp is slightly more oily than usual.I suppose that this is a drawback, but I suppose I can live with it. I prefer Loreal over other brands because it really helps in combating the frizziness my hair. I have dry ends, which is of course made worse by constant blow-drying, dyeing, and chemicals when I swim.

I don't really use the other products from the line, except the hair treatment on occasions.

I also did a review on the Loreal Total Repair Hair Mask, you can read it here.

*Loreal Anti-Frizz Hair Mask is available at most departmental stores, pharmacies, and probably Mama shops.

  1. While we recommend taking the sheet mask off after 20 minutes of usage, this doesn't mean you have to wash your skin, as the ingredients can carry on taking effect afterwards, as the serum sinks into the skin. Just like if you were to add moisturizer to the skin, you wouldn't wash it off straight afterwards.

Schwarzkopf Ultimate Colour 499 Dark Cherry review

TDLR Review:  I would not recommend this hair colour product at all, because the shade turned out nothing like the box. Also it is difficult to wash off.  NOTE: I have dark Asian hair, which might be the reason why it's not suitable for this product. So I'm back with another hair dye review! I've raved about the Liese hair dyes before ( Cassis Berry , Sweet Apricot , Antique Rose ), because those are super easy to use (I've appreciated that even more after finding out how difficult some at-home hair dye kits can be to apply). But I got suckered into getting a box of Schwarzkopf Ultimate Colour hair dye, because the models on Schwarzkopf hair dye boxes always have gorgeous shades of hair! I've used Schwarzkopf before, I've bought the Palette in Magical Blue Black (no review, only a haul). But I was disappointed with it, because there was only a faint sheen of blue, and the black faded from my hair quite quickly. The trouble with Schwarzkopf also is

Intro Post

Despite the name, this blog is not about carousels or couture (although you never know, that might change?). Nobody likes to spend money on something, only to discover that it does not deliver what it has promised. I sure don't. So I start this blog with the hopes that perhaps it'll help someone find their holy grail. And maybe, I'll find my own on the way too. Expect to find beauty and skincare reviews, book reviews, movie reviews, and current obsessions. Oh, and a little couture here and there too.

Old Town White Coffee Ipoh Hor Fun review

Who doesn't like Old Town White Coffee? It's so nostalgic, from the furniture they have to the food they serve. It's really like a throwback to the simpler times in Singapore. According to Wikipedia, Old Town White Coffee is the largest kopitiam restaurant chain in Malaysia and has over 180 outlets in the region. Can you believe that? I love their kaya toast and of course, their Ipoh Hor Fun. Why go to Penang when you can just enjoy the Hor Fun here? Normally I get those Ipoh Hor Fun that is served in rich gravy, with not much soup. But this one is served in a clear broth, which is perfect for a light meal that is also filling. At the end of it, you won't feel too full or bloated like if you had something richer. The kway teow is served with generous helpings of prawns and chicken shreds every time I go there (my favourite outlet is Playground at East Coast Park, the area that used to be Big Splash. There are 8 outlets in Singapore at the moment, and they ar
